# The canvas and Windows

Thinair is an infinite canvas. Every app you open is a Window on it, and everyone viewing a workspace sees the same thing.

## The canvas

The canvas has no edges. Zoom with a mouse's wheel or a pinch, and pan with a
trackpad's two fingers, a right drag or Space and drag. A drag on empty canvas selects
the Windows it touches.

A **workspace** is one canvas and its Windows. The switcher at the top of the left
sidebar lists every workspace you can show: **Native** for this computer's own,
**Cloud** for your Cloud workspaces, and **My Computers** for your other computers'.
New Workspace makes one, and Thinair shows the workspace you picked last, even after a
restart. Apps on the other workspaces keep running.

## Windows

Every app is a Window. Its bar shows the app's icon and title, where it runs (Native or
Cloud) and its Profile. Drag the bar or the rim to move it, and an edge or a corner to
resize it. Hold Shift as you drag the selection's handles to scale Windows instead:
each app keeps its own layout, drawn larger or smaller.

The bar also holds:

* **Access**: who and what reaches this Window, and the switch that keeps its app's
  agents in Default.
* **The bell**: this app's own notifications, and the requests it made.
* **Links**: the Window it was opened from, and those opened from it. Pick one to
  glide to it.
* **Show in File Explorer**, on a Window that shows a File.

A wheel or a pinch over a Window's page moves the canvas. Hold Alt (Option) to give
them to the app instead. A quiet right-click over a page goes to the app first.

## Opening apps and Files

Right-click empty canvas for **Apps ▸ the app ▸ the place ▸ the Profile**, and
**Profiles…** for the Profiles window. A new Window appears where you clicked and shows
its app's icon while the app starts.

Paste or drop pictures on empty canvas and each one lands there at once, saved in the
workspace's folder of Thinair Files and shown by Preview. Files
dragged out of a File Explorer open where you let go, or go to the app of the Window
you drop them on.

## The sidebars

The left sidebar holds the switcher, the workspace shown and **Apps**. The right
sidebar holds:

* **Access**: every grant and port share, each with Remove.
* **Notifications**: what waits for you, with an update that waits for a restart at
  the top.
* **Overview**: every Window on the canvas.
* **Properties**: the selected Window's app, where it runs, and its scale.

The account control at its edge opens **Thinair Settings**: Updates, Graphics, Account,
Keyboard, Billing, People, Cloud Profiles, Running in Cloud and Access.

## Everyone sees the same thing

Everything a workspace shows looks the same to everyone viewing it: where a Terminal is
scrolled, a PDF's page and zoom, a video's play position, a File Explorer's folder.
Agents see it the same way.

On a shared Cloud workspace, each person's cursor shows on everyone
else's canvas, and a Window someone drags moves on every canvas as they drag it. An
agent never gets a cursor: its work shows as a marker on the bar of the Window it works
in, such as **Claude (Personal) · typing**.
