Organizations

An organization is a Thinair Cloud account that many people share. It shares by Cloud Profile, with one level for each member.

An organization needs Thinair Pro: $20 a month for each member, and $20 a month for each computer it links.

Roles

Every member is an owner, an admin or a member.

  • Only owners delete or hand over the organization, change its plan, payment and fleet, and remove or demote owners and admins.
  • Admins do everything else: invite people, change roles and manage every shared Profile.

Invitations go by email and wait a week. Thinair Settings ▸ People lists the members and the invitations. An organization always keeps an owner.

Private and shared Profiles

Each Cloud Profile is private, its maker's alone, or shared. Owners and admins can remove a member's private Profile, but never open, use or read it. Each member also has a private folder of their own in the organization's Files.

Levels

Each member has one level on each shared Profile:

  • No Access: they do not see its Windows.
  • View: they and their agents see its apps working, history included, and change nothing.
  • Operate: they use its apps with all its keys, and change what is in it.
  • Manage: as Operate, and they decide who gets in, its mode and its folders.

A Profile's maker, and the organization's owners and admins, manage it. Levels last until someone takes them back. Share this Window… gives someone View or Operate on one Window until the end picked: Manage gives either, Operate gives View.

Agents in an organization

An agent in a shared Profile acts as that Profile's agent, never as the person who typed to it, and each message it gets says who sent it. To reach another Profile it asks, and someone who manages that Profile answers.

Working together

Everything a shared workspace shows is the same for everyone in it. Each member's cursor shows on the others' canvases, a moment behind, and a Window someone drags moves on every canvas as they drag it. A cursor over a Window you cannot see shows as away.

Fleet computers

An organization can link computers to run its apps in Thinair VMs there. Linking takes two clicks: the computer's owner on that computer, and an owner of the organization. A computer's own apps never take part, and an unlinked computer keeps nothing of the organization's.

When someone leaves

A member who leaves or is removed reaches nothing, at once: their connections close, and the organization's Windows go dark for them. Apps they opened keep running for the organization.
