Terminal

Your login shell, on your computer as you, or in a VM of its own. A small holder keeps it running across restarts and updates of Thinair: only Stop, or closing it for good, ends it. Where it is scrolled is the same for everyone viewing its Window. In a VM it has git, ripgrep and curl, and lends its home folder to mirrors. An agent in its Profile reads it and types into it as you would.

Chrome

Google Chrome in a Linux VM, one per Profile. Opening Chrome again in that Profile opens a new window in the same Chrome, each window its own Window. Its data lives on the Profile's disk, so it stays signed in. Copy, paste and dropped Files work between your computer and Chrome. On an Apple silicon Mac it draws with the computer's graphics chip (Thinair Settings ▸ Graphics).

Chrome comes from Google: each computer downloads it, and Thinair never ships it. Its localhost is its VM's own. A dev server on your computer shows in it once you share the port (Agents, access and modes).

Preview

Shows Files: pictures, SVGs and Mermaid diagrams flat on the canvas, PDFs page by page, and videos (MP4, MOV and WebM). When the File is saved again, its Window shows the new version within about a second. A PDF's page and zoom, and a video's play position, are the same for everyone viewing it. On your computer itself Preview shows any File; in a Profile it runs in a small VM and reads only what that Profile's folders reach.

File Explorer

Your Thinair Files. On your computer itself it shows every File, which Profiles reach each one, and your own home folder. In a Profile it shows only what that Profile's folders reach. Delete puts a File in the Trash, which keeps it 30 days. A version's Restore makes a new version from it. Drag Files out onto empty canvas to open them there, or onto another Window to hand them to its app.

Component

One React component built from shadcn parts and Tailwind, kept as a .component File, live on the canvas with hot reload. Apps ▸ Component ▸ Native makes a new one in the workspace's folder. It runs in a VM of its own with no network card, and in no Profile, so its code gets none of your secrets. npm packages reach it only through Thinair.

Agents edit it through a mirror. It saves itself a few seconds after its files go quiet, and sleeps when its Window closes.

Video

A film written as code, kept as a .video File, in a VM of its own in a Profile. Agents write it. Its Window, the Video Editor, shows the picture and a timeline read from the code, says each edit in plain words with Undo, and exports a new MP4 File beside it. Its clips, music and stills sit in a media folder beside it.

Agent

Thinair's own agent, kept as a .agent File, in a VM of its own in a Profile. Each turn runs Claude Code on the Profile's own Claude sign-in; when the Profile has none, it asks you to sign in, over its Window. Everyone viewing it sees each reply as it arrives. It saves into its File at each pause and when its last Window closes, with every secret masked. It does Thinair things only through Thinair's tools, as an agent in its Profile. The Agent runs on your computer; it does not run in Cloud yet.

Which app opens a File

Each File opens in the app for its kind: a .component in the Component, a .video in the Video, a .agent in the Agent, and pictures, SVGs, Mermaid diagrams, PDFs and videos in Preview. Opening a File that is already open takes you to its Window.
